Centerfire Score Match Schedule

Monthly Centerfire Score Matches are held on the 4th Saturday of the month, March - October from 9:00 'til 2:00PM. Some benches will remain open to members not participating in the match who want to sight-in hunting rifles. Help will be available with sighting-in if you need it.

These are club fun shoots to test your skill against other shooters. We shoot in four classes:

  • Hunter -  Factory rifle chambered in .243 or larger as it came from the factory. I.E. NO changes in
barrel, trigger, stock, etc.and must not have a varmint contour barrel (No heavy barrel).

  • Factory Rifle - Centerfire varmint rifle as is from the factory. Again NO barrel changes or trigger changes.
  • Modified Rifle - Factory rifle that has an after market barrel or trigger or stock installed.
  • VFS (Varmint For Score) - These are full blown NBRSA rifles.

Prizes for top score in each class. Coffee, donuts, etc. Bring your lunch. 100 or 200 yard I.B.S. targets. Entry fee, $20.  Competitors who shoot in at least six matches will qualify for a grand prize trophy at the end of the season. If you have any questions call: Phil Lewis.

FAQ: "Is the match only for benchrest shooters?" Meaning can only people with full blown benchrest  compete? No, these club fun shoots are open to everyone. So bring your stock factory gun out and shoot with us. It's all about having a good time and shooting. These are not registered shoots. They are fun shoots. Generally speaking most people start out in Factory class. If there is enough interest we could hold a introductory class into score benchrest shooting.

It is OK to shoot rimfire rifles on this range but you must place your targets on the 100 or 200 yard target boards which are provided. No movable or interim targets are allowed.

The final Score Match of the year was held on October 22nd. Prizes were awarded.

2011 Season Champs
