Vol. 4, No. 75 Apr. 14, 2008

The Board voted to accept nine new members at its April meeting. This brings our membership total to 788. Welcome to our new members. Please make them feel at home if you see them at the range.

We would like to express our thanks to those brave souls who came out for the workday on March 29th, and especially to Randall Cox who repaired cracked concrete at the bath house. Jeff Miller was a great help on the Pistol Range.

The mowers have been serviced and are ready to be used. Remember we need help all season long. Please consider donating an hour or two to mow. Other clubs our size charge a Range Maintenance Fee. With volunteer help we will be able to avoid adding this fee.

Have you seen the building at the Trap Range? The concrete pad was extended toward the shooting area. The entire space has been enclosed. Windows overlook the field. We are still waiting for electricity, heating and air conditioning, but the prospects of an enclosed shelter are exciting! The storage capacity at the Trap Range has doubled,We can save some money by not having to order birds as often thus saving on shipping fees.  Special thanks to Lonnie Campbell who donated tin for the roof. Trap shoots can now be run from this building. The existing Trap Stat. House at the flagpole will become the club office used for board meetings and orientation sessions.

We hope you visited the General Mills and Hamburger Helper website and cast a vote in favor of funding for our Youth Shooting Program. The deadline has now passed and we are waiting to see if we will be awarded the grant that Dewey Misenheimer and Ron Anderson requested. Awards are to be announced on May 15th.
. Ron says they still need guns and ammo. Contact Ron if you can help. (336) 621-6181
