Eleven new applicants were accepted for club membership during the March Board Meeting.
The Board has approved Concealed Carry classes beginning in April. The one-day classes will be offered as a service to members and their immediate families at the greatly reduced price of $40 per person. Watch for more details to be posted soon.
Members are reminded that the Rimfire Range is for Rimfire weapons ONLY. No Centerfire weapons are allowed on this range. (BB and pellet guns are OK on the Rimfire Range.)
Additionally No Rimfire weapons are to be used in the Pistol Pits or the Utility Pit.
A short range target board will be added to the Rimfire Range.
You are not to shoot any shotshells on the Utility Range or Pistol Pits. There is a patterning board beside the #3 Skeet Field.
When a member's spouse joins RCGC the usual initiation fee will be waived.
Currently membership benefits extend to a member's children until they reach 18. The Board has adopted a Legacy Membership policy. Within 1 year of turning 18, children of current members may join RCGC without having to pay an initiation fee.
Many improvements have been made to the Skeet Building. All the wiring and receptacles had to be replaced. Interior painting has been completed and new cabinets are installed. The road to the Skeet Fields which was a muddy mess after the January and February snow storms has 3 additional loads of rock.
The Trap shooters will have a good-bye dinner for Steve Wright and his wife who are moving. The dinner will be on Saturday March 13th. Don’t forget the Trap Clinic in April. Contact Tom Cox for more information about both events.
There are new shelters and picnic tables on the Pistol Range. Fourteen shooters participated in the February match. Pistol Matches will continue to use the Rimfire Range. It will be available to Rimfire shooters before the Pistol Match and as soon as the 1st Stage is complete. The Utility Range will reopen as soon as Stage #2 ends. (Pistolo Matches are generally the 3rd Sat. of each month.)
New backer boards have been installed on the Rifle Range. The down range outlets have been sleeved to protect them. New signs are in place. Gutters will be added to the roof of the firing line shelter.
